This hybrid cultivar showcases spoon-shaped leaves with creamy yellow centers, apple-green margins, and blush-pink tips that intensify in cooler weather or bright light. Each symmetrical rosette can reach up to 30 cm in diameter, making it a standout feature in pots, raised beds, or succulent arrangements.
Native to the Canary Islands and adapted beautifully to Australian conditions, 'Moonburst' thrives in temperate zones with mild winters and low humidity. Its naturally clumping habit produces offsets over time, forming a multi-headed, shrub-like display. Occasional yellow star-shaped flowers may appear in spring, adding seasonal interest.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or part sun. Avoid harsh midday rays in summer to prevent leaf scorch.
Watering: Use the soak and dry method—water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again. Reduce watering in summer and winter when the plant may go dormant.
Soil: Plant in well-draining succulent mix. Avoid moisture-retentive soils to prevent root rot.
Maintenance: Trim away any solid green offsets to maintain vibrant variegation. Repot every 2–3 years with fresh soil.
